There are a number of different reasons why someone would undergo a breast enhancement surgery. For one, the size of the breasts may leave something to be desired. In addition, the shape or symmetry of someone’s breasts may be off in some way. Weight loss or pregnancy can also affect the firmness and perkiness of the breasts. There are a number of different surgeries that you can undergo in order to enhance your bustline, and below is a brief overview of such surgeries that a plastic surgeon may perform.

Breast Augmentation Surgery with Breast Implants

If your breasts are uneven in terms of size and symmetry or you would like to enhance your cup size, then you may want to consider breast enhancement with breast implants. This surgery involves the placement of either saline breast implants or cohesive gel breast implants to increase chest size. The surgery can be paired with other breast surgeries in order to achieve a comprehensive re-contouring of the bustline.

Breast Lift Surgery

Following pregnancy or pronounced weight loss, a woman’s breasts may droop or sag due to overstretched skin and the effects of time and gravity. In such cases one can turn to breast lift surgery to improve the firmness and perkiness of the breasts. During this surgery, an incision is made along the underside of the breasts in order to tighten the skin and remove excess tissue. As with breast augmentation surgery, this surgery can be performed with other breast surgeries to achieve comprehensive enhancement. (Male breast reduction surgery can also be performed on men who suffer from gynecomastia.)

Breast Reduction Surgery

When breasts are too large, a woman may experience a great deal of self-consciousness. Clothes may not fit right and body proportion may seem off. In addition, the weight of overlarge breasts can cause a number of aches and pains in the neck, back, and shoulders. Breast reduction surgery can remedy these problems. The procedure is similar in some ways to a breast lift in that it involves the removal of excess tissues through incisions located under the breasts.
