DR. FRANK LISTA: I grew up in Mississauga. I went to grade school here and went to University at the University of Toronto and did my medical school at the University of Toronto and did my specialty training at the University of Toronto. I went away for a fellowship and came back and starting practicing sheerly by coincidence within a few miles of where I grew up. So I am grounded. I mean I live in this community, my kids grew up in this community and I work in this community and I’m connect. I’m connected to the patients and the people and you know it is a really exciting thing for me. These are the basic three types of implants that are available now in Canada. There are some operations that we have perfected here that I have sort of taken old operation and improved on them. An example is breast reduction. We have written two papers on breast reduction which have been published in our Journal, the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery which improved the look of the operation, limit the amount of scarring and just give a better result so we’ve developed this technique, use it on our patients, now we are teaching other people how to do it, written papers, we have a book chapter coming out. Another one is gyneocamastic [phonetic] male breast reduction. Some men unfortunately are born or grow up with excessive breast development so I’ve developed a technique where we are able to do that with much less scarring and a safer and faster operation so we have written a paper on that which is also in the journal and we are writing a book chapter on it as well. That gives better care not just to my patients but to all patients with gynacamest in the world who are now having this operation though other surgeons that we have been able to teach.
