Breast Lift

A breast lift is the most common cosmetic surgery performed on women who have had children, restoring the shape of the breasts and repositioning them to a more youthful height. At the Plastic Surgery Clinic in Ontario, a new technique performed by Dr. Lista restores fullness to the upper part of the breast in addition to providing lift.

DR. FRANK LISTA: Well breast lift is a really exciting operation. There have been lots of advances in it. Breast life is an operation for a patient who has a droopy breast. It doesn’t necessarily want a size change but wants to lift a breast. This is the most common operation that we see in women after they have had children. We do see some young women who have anomalies or deformities of the breast that cause them to droop and we do those patients as well. The exciting thing about that operation is that there are new techniques to give more fullness in the upper part of the breast so a patient who says well my breast is droopy but also I don’t have any fullness up top, we are now actually able to take that droopy breast tissue and put it under a sling of muscle so that they get what we call the auto implant. We use their own breast tissue to augment the upper part of their breast so they get more fullness as well as just being lifted.
