Description
Sometimes, even the most dedicated diet and fitness regimen is unable to eliminate excess skin and stubborn pockets of fat. At the Plastic Surgery Clinic in Mississauga, Ontario, abdominoplasty removes and reshapes excess skin in the abdominal region, while liposuction removes fat from trouble spots with minimal scarring.

DR. JAMIL AHMAD: Abdominoplasty or a tummy tuck is one of the most common procedures that we perform. And our typical patient that comes to us is, a woman who has had a couple of kids and who is very active, works, goes to the gym, but still can’t get rid of some of that extra skin that was left after pregnancy. Uh, with abdominoplasty, we remove that extra skin. We try to re-contour the tummy and sometimes even have to tighten the muscles of the tummy to really improve on the contour of our patients’ abdomens. We want to basically try to get them back to their hourglass figure. Abdominoplasty typically is done as a day surgery procedure. Here, uh, at The Plastic Surgery Clinic, our patients typically take a couple of weeks, two or three weeks to recover. Um, they’re back to work, usually after two or three weeks, and in terms of getting back to the gym, it’s usually after a month or so. Liposuction is a very powerful procedure. It allows us to re-contour areas, uh, with minimal scarring. Um, these are areas—typically our patients are very active. They go to the gym. They just can’t get rid of some of those trouble areas, like the love handles or the saddle bags. Liposuction allows us to address those, re-contour those areas, improve the appearance of the areas without any scarring.
