Arm and Thigh Contouring

Description

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, addresses sagging skin on the upper arms, while thigh contouring eliminates excess skin that typically accumulates in the inner thighs. At the Plastic Surgery Clinic in Ontario, both surgeries are performed as outpatient procedures, and recovery time is approximately two to three weeks.

DR. JAMIL AHMAD: At The Plastic Surgery Clinic we see a lot of patients who are concerned about the appearance of their arms or of their thighs. With the arms, patients feel that they have some extra skin that maybe jiggles when they wave, or it makes them feel self-conscious when they wear certain types of clothes that show their arms. Uh, what we can do is brachioplasty, which helps to really re-contour the arms and reshape it and get rid of some of that extra skin. With the thighs, patients notice that either with aging, or with weight loss, they get redundant skin of the thighs that really bothers them. They feel that their inner thighs rub together. They feel that they can’t get pants that fit well, or, uh, dresses. And what they want to do is have an improvement in the contour, an improvement in the appearance. Patients want to look great in their clothes and also at the beach. With contouring of the arms and the thighs, typically they are done as day surgery procedures. It’s usually about two to three weeks of recovery, and, uh, patients are back at work usually in that time period also. Um, depending on what are the specific needs of the patient will really dictate how much or how little needs to be done to give them the best result.
